How To Find The Way To Happiness – By Removing Negative Emotions

In this article, I want to talk about how to find happiness in life by removing the exact emotions that block it.

First off, happiness is an emotion just like any other emotion a person can have such as fear or love etc. The thing about emotions is that generally speaking we can really only feel one emotion at a time. For example:

  • If you’re stressed you can’t feel happy

  • If you’re in love you don’t feel depressed

  • If you’re happy you don’t feel depressed

While you can experience lots of small different emotions all at the same time, when it comes to the bigger emotions like in the examples, one emotion is the dominant emotion.

What does this have to do with finding happiness?

From this we can see that in order to find happiness in life, you shouldn’t go out and seek money or things like these that we think would bring us happiness …but rather we should work on the things that are preventing happiness from entering our lives in the first place.

So if you don’t feel happy because say for instance you’re stressed out at work, then the solution to bring happiness to your life is not to seek:

  • Money,

  • Sex

  • Drink

  • Or any other form of escapism etc

But to work on the one thing that’s preventing you from being happy – ie your stressful situation at work.

Form an action plan based on eliminating happiness's barriers

At least when you have identified what’s preventing you from experiencing happiness in your life, you can form an action plan around that one thing as opposed to looking for outside influences to wallpaper over the cracks.

So if your job is causing your stress, you need to identify what it is exactly about your job that’s causing this stress …and then work on solutions to alleviate it.

Removing bad emotions from your life like this will not make you feel happy immediately but it will set you on the road to happiness because you’re removing the main barriers in happiness’ way.
